SCOUTING FOR FOOD - 2009

On November 21, St. John's Cub Scout Pack 550 collected approximately 1,200 food items during their Annual Scouting for Food Drive ! 

It is Scouting’s community stewardship project aimed at addressing the problem of hunger in the community in which we live and work.  Over 30,000 scouts collected over 2.1 million food items (which makes about 41 million they have collected in the drive's 25-year history)!  St. John's Church is the charter organization of Cub Scout Pack 550 and we focus our food campaign efforts on the Arnold Food Pantry.  All food pantries, including Arnold , have experienced increased demands for food this past year. 

Families needing nutritional assistance during the coming winter months will have adequate food because of the generosity of our communities and the hard work of our Scouts and leaders.
